Crouttes
Situated on a hill side, in the Auge region, the Priory Saint-Michel, is one of the rare Benedictine places which has survived from the Middle Ages keeping its main buildings; the magnificent 13th c. tithe barn with its soaring tim- bered roof, the intimate 13th "c. chapel with its barrel vaulted ceiling and one of the largest timbe- red cidrerys built during the 15th c. These buil- dings form a courtyard in the centre of which is a small pond fed by a natural spring. |
